1Introduction

Qteco B.V. (“Qteco”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar techniques on its website(s).

In this Cookie Statement we explain which cookies we use, why we use them, on what legal basis, and how you can manage your preferences.

This Cookie Statement applies to all websites, portals and online services of Qteco and supplements our Privacy Statement.

2What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone during your visit to a website. In addition to cookies, similar techniques may be used, such as:

• pixels;
• scripts;
• web beacons;
• local storage;
• tracking technologies.

These techniques are jointly referred to in this statement as “cookies”.

3Why do we use cookies?

Qteco uses cookies to:

• ensure the website functions correctly;
• remember your preferences;
• analyse the performance of the website;
• improve the user experience;
• support marketing activities;
• enhance the security of our online services.

4Legal basis and consent

Strictly necessary cookies fall under the statutory exemption of Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act; no consent is required for these. For all other cookies (analytical – insofar as not exempt –, marketing and social media) we place cookies only after your prior consent.

We record consent given and retain it as evidence, so that we can demonstrate compliance with the consent requirements (accountability, Article 7 GDPR).

5Cookie management and your preferences

Qteco uses its own, self-developed consent mechanism: a first-party cookie banner that runs entirely on our own infrastructure. No external consent management platform is loaded. On your first visit the cookie banner appears, allowing you to set your preference.

Via the cookie banner you can:

• accept the measurement cookie;
• refuse the measurement cookie — as easy as accepting: the banner contains an equivalent refusal option;
• change or withdraw a previous choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.

Your choice is stored so that the website respects it on future visits. Consent given and withdrawn is recorded with a timestamp, so that we can demonstrate compliance with the consent requirements (accountability, Article 7 GDPR). Browsers that send the Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal are automatically treated as a refusal.

6Which types of cookies do we use?

6.1 Necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the functioning of the website. Without them, certain parts of the website do not function correctly. Examples:

• session management;
• security settings;
• cookie preferences;
• form security;
• load balancing.

No consent is required for necessary cookies.

6.2 Analytical cookies and our own visitor measurement

Qteco measures the use of this website with self-developed software that runs entirely on our own Dutch infrastructure (first-party). No external analytics service is loaded, no data is shared with third parties and full IP addresses are not stored. The measurement has two levels:

• Anonymous measurement (without consent) — aggregated statistics using a temporary identifier that exists only for the duration of your browser session (session storage). We record, among other things, pages visited, click and scroll behaviour, device type and country. This measurement has no or minimal impact on your privacy and therefore falls under the exemption of Article 11.7a(3) of the Dutch Telecommunications Act; no consent is required for it.
• Recognition between visits (only after your consent) — first-party storage under the name qteco_vid: a cookie and a localStorage value of the same name, retention period 12 months. This allows us to recognise you on a next visit and — when you submit a form yourself — to link your contact details to your visit history for our commercial follow-up. Without consent, qteco_vid is neither created nor read.

Storage used in practice: qteco_consent (your cookie preference, with timestamp, functional — localStorage), qteco_vid (recognition, only after consent — cookie + localStorage, 12 months), qteco_sid (anonymous measurement — session storage, expires at the end of your browser session), and qteco-theme / qteco-lang (theme and language preference, functional — localStorage).

6.3 Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies help us measure the effectiveness of campaigns and display relevant information, for purposes including advertising measurement, remarketing, conversion tracking and content personalisation. These cookies are placed only after your consent.

6.4 Social media cookies

Our website may contain functionality from social networks that may place cookies to enable interactions with social media. These cookies are placed only after consent has been given.

7Third-party cookies

Depending on the configuration of the website, the following categories of suppliers may be involved, among others:

• web analytics suppliers;
• marketing platforms;
• video platforms;
• social media platforms;
• cloud and hosting providers;
• security services.

For visitor measurement and consent management Qteco does not use any external suppliers (see chapters 5 and 6).

External parties may process personal data in accordance with their own privacy and cookie policies. Qteco has no influence over their content and advises you to consult those statements separately.

8Retention periods

Cookies are not retained longer than necessary for the purpose for which they were placed. The retention periods of the cookies placed by Qteco itself are listed in chapter 6 of this statement.

9Changing or withdrawing consent

You can change or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time via:

• the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of our website;
• your browser settings.

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing lawfully carried out beforehand.

10Deleting cookies via your browser

Most browsers offer the option to delete or block cookies; more information is available via the support pages of your browser supplier. Please note that certain parts of the website may not function optimally when cookies are disabled.

11Personal data

Insofar as cookies collect or process personal data, this takes place in accordance with our Privacy Statement. More information can be found in our Privacy Statement.

12Security and compliance

As a Managed Service Provider and technology partner, Qteco attaches great importance to privacy, information security and transparency. We strive to keep our websites, systems and processes in line with:

• the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR);
• the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Article 11.7a);
• ePrivacy regulations;
• relevant cybersecurity directives (including NIS2 where applicable);
• other applicable laws and regulations.

Qteco reserves the right to amend this Cookie Statement. The most current version is always published on our website. We advise visitors to consult this statement regularly.
